The Zoology Laboratory serves to support practical activities, research, and development in the field of animal biology.
The activities related to zoology commonly conducted in this laboratory include:
- Identification of animal samples, both macroscopically and microscopically.
- Preparation of wet specimens and collections of preserved animals.
- Creation of histological wet preparations of animals.
- Study of processes related to metabolism, anatomy, physiology, and animal development.
- Maintenance of experimental animals and breeding.
To support these activities, the laboratory is equipped with facilities such as the Animal Breeding Unit (Butterflies/Frogs) and the Experimental Animal Housing (Rabbits/Mice).
The equipment used in this laboratory includes a microtome, Refrigerator, Binocular Microscope, Trinocular Microscope, Stereo Microscope, Microscope Optic Camera, Wet Animal Specimens, Histological Animal Specimens, Torso Model, Charta (paper), Hemocytometer, Tensiometer, Lancet Pen, Hematology Analyzer, Incubator Oven, Glassware, and others.
Furthermore, the practical courses offered in the Zoology Laboratory include: Animal Structure, Animal Development, Animal Physiology, Microtechnique, Animal Taxonomy, and Human Anatomy and Physiology
