Formulating Research Proposals for Competitive Grants

In enhancing the competencies of faculty members, the Biology Program regularly organizes workshops to assist in their professional development. On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, the Biology Program held a competency-building event with the theme of formulating research proposals for competitive grants. The event took place both in person (in room 101 at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta) and virtually via Zoom. The session featured Dr. Mohamad Abdul Hakim from UNS as the guest speaker. Participants included faculty members from the Biology Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and external faculty members. The workshop was divided into two sessions with distinct topics. In the first session, the speaker provided valuable insights on creating effective research proposals and developing a clear research roadmap, ensuring that proposals have the potential to succeed in grant applications. The second session covered aspects such as research planning, creating an appealing portfolio, and efficient budgeting for research expenses. The event began with the speaker’s presentation, followed by discussions with the participants.
