Biology Students’ Community Service (KKN) with Ecotourism Development Program in Dukuh Ngroto, Bulurejo Hamlet, Hargomulyo Village, Ngrambe Subdistrict, Ngawi Regency, East Java
The KKN program took place from July 12 to August 29, 2021, in Dukuh Ngroto, Bulurejo Hamlet, Hargomulyo Village, Ngrambe Subdistrict, Ngawi Regency, East Java. The location was chosen to support community development and explore the area’s tourism potential. The Ecotourism Development program began on July 17 with a meeting between the KKN team and the local youth organization (Karang Taruna) in Dukuh Ngroto. During this meeting, the team presented the concept of ecotourism spatial planning based on community and Karang Taruna preferences. Following the concept phase, the KKN team collaborated with Karang Taruna to initiate construction. The initial developments included relocating the entrance and parking area as planned.
During the KKN period, other activities included celebrating Indonesia’s 76th Independence Day, the “Master Tumpeng Ngroto 2021” event, digital literacy awareness sessions, joint learning sessions (Sinau Bareng), evening Quran recitations (Maghrib Mengaji), mask and vitamin distribution, COVID-19 and digital literacy posters installation, and health response initiatives.
