Socialization of Promotion and Community Service of Biology Study Program to MAN 1 Kuningan, West Java

The Biology Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, has carried out Socialization and Promotion (Sosprom) activities on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at MAN 1 Kuningan. This Sosprom activity was also accompanied by the tri dharma PT activity, namely community service with two activities scientific writing training for teachers and laboratory-based learning training consisting of two sub-activities, namely herbarium-making training and DNA isolation training with simple methods.

In her remarks, the Head of the Biology Study Program, Najda Rifqiyati, M.Si said that this socialization and promotion activity has an important role for educational institutions to introduce superior programs and the benefits of the programs organized by the institution, especially the Biology Study Program for the learning community, namely students as prospective students. It is hoped that this Socialization and Promotion can attract prospective students to continue studying at the Bio Study Program. Principal of MAN 1 Kuningan Drs. H. Dadang Haerudin, MA warmly welcomed the presence of the Bio Study Program social promotion team and expressed his gratitude and hopes that in the future, there will be as many opportunities as possible for class XII students to be able to study at the Biology Study Program, FST, UIN Sunan Kalijaga and collaborate.

The social promotion activity was carried out by presenting all class XII students, presenting a profile video of the Biology Study Program and a more detailed presentation regarding the curriculum, lab facilities, lecturer profiles, student achievements, various study clubs in the Biology Study Program and the general learning environment in the FST, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Lab-based learning training was carried out in two classes, namely the herbarium training class with facilitators Dr. Ika Nugraheni AM and Satiti Ratnasari, M.Sc, DNA isolation training by Dr. Isma Kurniatanty and Agessty Ika Nurulita, M.Sc and KTI writing training by Lela Susilawati, PhD and Siti Fatimah, MPH. Throughout the activity, enthusiasm was evident from the students and teachers who participated, this was evident from the enthusiasm for questions and discussions raised by students and teachers.
