Review of Guidelines for Writing Scientific Papers in the Context of MBKM Implementation

On Thursday, July 28, 2022, the Biology program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta organized an event titled “Review of Guidelines for Writing Scientific Papers.” The session took place at Hotel Grand Keisha and featured Dr. Miftahul Ilmi, M.Si., a faculty member from the Biology Faculty at Universitas Gadjah Mada. During the event, the speaker discussed scientific papers, their fundamental principles, structure, citation practices, and plagiarism. Scientific papers represent the thoughtful exploration of a topic, addressing scientific questions systematically. They can result from research or literature reviews. The purpose of publishing scientific papers is to share new information. In essence, the basic principles of writing scientific papers are conciseness, clarity, and logical presentation.

The speaker emphasized improving the student research system (for theses). Student research can be more effective and efficient if faculty members guide research topics according to a roadmap, and students choose themes aligned with their interests. By following this method, it is hoped that students can complete their theses on time and graduate within four years.
