On June 29, 2024, in Room 104 of the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, the Biology study program held an Alumni Gathering activity. This activity is a forum for alumni to socialize and maintain good relations with the Biology Study Program and Biology Study Program students who are still active. Through this activity, alumni can share experiences and establish collaborations, both with fellow alumni and with Biology Study Program lecturers. This activity was carried out in a hybrid manner and was attended by alumni of the Biology Study Program from the Class of 2006 to the Class of 2019. The number of participants who attended online was 43 people, while the number of participants who attended online via Zoom was 49 people. In her remarks at this activity, Mrs. Najda Rifqiyati, M.Si. as the Head of the Biology Study Program said that the Alumni Gathering activity would be a routine activity that could support the development of the Biology Study Program. Alumni of the Biology Study Program have worked in various fields so that they can provide input, especially for the development of the Biology Study Program curriculum so that the curriculum is directed to produce competent graduates. The same thing was also conveyed by the chair of the Alumni Gathering committee, Mrs. Jumailatus Solihah, M.Biotech, that coordination between the Biology Study Program and alumni would be very beneficial for the development of the Biology Study Program.

This activity began with the socialization of the tracer study by Mrs. Agessty Ika Nurlita, M.Sc. The socialization of this tracer study has several objectives, including obtaining an overview of the quality of alumni in terms of both soft skills and hard skills, becoming a reference for study program accreditation, socializing procedures for accessing the alumni information system and updating data via the tracer study address, and updating job data (job quality, salary data, etc.) which can help the study program accreditation value. On this occasion, the Alumni Gathering activity also presented a resource person, Muhammad Said, M.Sc. He is a professional who works at EPCI Company and is also an ISO auditor. In his presentation, the resource person said that graduating from college is not the end of the learning process but rather a new step toward a new environment and atmosphere. So graduates of the Biology Study Program must prepare personal integrity (noble morals), logical thinking (psychological tests, etc.), communication skills, digital information technology skills (Microsoft Excel, etc.), and international language skills (international languages).

In the Alumni Gathering activity, a sharing session was also held by IKABI (the Biology Study Program alumni association) which included providing suggestions and input to the Biology Study Program. In addition, the election of the new IKABI core management was also carried out, which finally chose Febriyan Eka Tama, S.Si (Biology 2016), Bintang Jalu Rais Al-Amin, S.Si (Biology 2017), and Muhammad Fadhal Akhyari, S.Si (Biology 2017) as the core management of IKABI. The alumni gathering event ended with a friendly gathering between alumni, lecturers, and some active students of the Biology Study Program.
