The Invitation to the Week of Student Talent and Interest Development (IPPBMM VII) is a competition participated in by all state and private Islamic universities in the Java-Madura region. This year, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta hosted the event. IPPBMM VII took place from June 21 to 25, 2021. The competition had 1,343 participants from 18 PTKIN (State Islamic Higher Education Institutions) competing in 30 different categories.

The Biology program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta sent two students to participate in this competition. Fahrul Nurkholis (Biology 2020) and Reza Sukmadewi (Biology 2018), under the guidance of Ms. Dian Aruni Kumalawati, M.Sc., competed in the Scientific Paper (LKTI Ilmiah) category. Both Biology students successfully advanced to the final stage, which took place on June 22, 2021. Based on the jury’s evaluation, the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Biology team secured 1st place in the competition, surpassing UIN Sunan Maulana Hasanuddin Baten and UIN Sunan Walisongo Semarang with a score of 87.58.

Notably, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta was also declared the overall champion of IPPBMM, earning 14 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. May this achievement inspire other Biology students to actively participate in competitions within their field. Congratulations to the winners!
