Professionalism Training in Biology: Halal Assurance System for Food and Beverages
The Biology program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta organized the 10th Professionalism Training, attended by both students and alumni. The event took place on September 25, 2021, with the theme “Halal Assurance System for Food and Beverages” presented by Ibu Anisah Mahardiani, S.Farm., M.Farm. The training aimed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and preparation of biology graduates in understanding the halal assurance system for food and beverages in Indonesia.
The session began with the agenda read by Nur Fiddaryani, followed by singing the Indonesian national anthem and the UIN Sunan Kalijaga hymn. Ibu Najda Rifqiyati, M.Si., the head of the Biology program, delivered a welcoming speech.
The core of the event featured a presentation by guest speaker Ibu Anisah, moderated by Ibu Jumailatus Solihah, S.Si., M.Si., a faculty member in the Biology program. Ibu Anisah explained topics related to the definition of halal and haram food and beverages in Islam, the halal assurance system in Indonesia and other countries, and career opportunities for biology graduates in the halal industry. The speaker also discussed the halal certification process in Indonesia, critical points for certifying food and beverages, and the roles of auditors and halal supervisors. Following the presentation, there was a Q&A session with the participants. The training concluded at 11:30 AM WIB, and awards were given to the most active participants during the session.
