Professionalism Training in Biology: “Organizational Management”

On Saturday, April 9, 2022, the Biological Sciences Program hosted its annual Professionalism Training in Biology for the year 2022. The inaugural episode focused on “Organizational Management” and featured Miftakhul Jannatin, M.Si (Chair of PPI Taiwan) as the guest speaker. The virtual event began at 9:00 AM and was opened by the MC.

In her welcome address, Shilfiana Rahayu, the head of the training committee, emphasized that this event aims to enhance students’ abilities and broaden their perspectives by inviting experts. She encouraged active participation through questions and discussions.

Miftakhul Jannatin, M.Si, then delivered a presentation, guided by moderator Gita Miranda W, M.P.H. The speaker shared insights into their organizational journey since their undergraduate days. Additionally, they highlighted how economic growth can be supported through knowledge, religion, and effective organizational management. The training emphasizes both soft skills and hard skills, following guiding principles such as prioritizing lectures, total commitment to organizations, and maintaining routines (including coffee breaks).

Active involvement in organizations helps students understand others’ characters, improve communication, and build valuable connections. Alongside good management practices, the speaker emphasized the importance of parental prayers in achieving goals.

Following the presentation, a discussion session engaged participants, and the event concluded at 11:00 AM.
