Field Assessment Simulation for the Biology Program

The Biology Program, managed by the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, plays a crucial role in producing skilled biologists. To maintain and enhance its quality, the program remains dynamic in response to societal needs. With a clear vision and mission, the Biology Program aims to excel in education, research, and community service.

To achieve its goals, the program continuously assesses its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This comprehensive evaluation considers factors such as qualified human resources, supportive infrastructure, and a conducive campus environment.

Accreditation by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) is essential for validating program quality, efficiency, and relevance. Field assessments conducted by external assessors play a crucial role in ensuring the measurable delivery of educational programs. The Biology Program aspires to achieve an excellent accreditation status based on these assessments.

During a recent simulation, the Biology Program engaged both internal (Prof. Casmini) and external (Dr. Diah Rachmawati from UGM) assessors. They provided valuable feedback on the prepared documents related to Learning Outcomes (LED) and the Academic Quality Assurance System (LKPS). The entire accreditation team gained insights into the assessment process, aligning with BAN-PT standards for academic program delivery.

The assessors emphasized the importance of data consistency between LKPS and LED. Clear, non-normative answers supported by valid data are crucial. Overall, the program meets the criteria for excellent accreditation, but addressing specific questions in the matrix will enhance its readiness.
