Implementation of MBKM in the Biology Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta
One aspect of implementing the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta is providing learning opportunities at other campuses. The Biology Program has been doing this since the 2021/2022 academic year. During the odd semester, 18 Biology students from UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta took several courses at Universitas Sebelas Maret Solo. These courses included Bacterial Pathogenesis, Food Fermentation Technology, Natural Resources and Environment, Environmental Toxicology, Primatology, Immunology, and more. The credits earned were converted to equivalent courses at the host university. Additionally, 14 students participated in learning activities at UGM, and 2 students through the PERMATA program.
In the even semester, 6 Biology students continued this program by attending classes at other universities such as UNSOED, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, and UIN Sumatera Utara through the PERMATA MERDEKA and PERMATA UIN programs. Notably, it’s not only UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta’s Biology students who participate; 13 students from other institutions like UNISMA, UIN Wali Songo Semarang, and UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya also took Biology courses at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.
Another regular implementation of MBKM since the 2021/2022 academic year is inviting guest lecturers from various backgrounds, including industry professionals and researchers.
