“Workshop Review on OBE Learning for Implementing MBKM in the Biology Program”
The Biology Program actively supports the government’s efforts to enhance education quality through the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Learning within the Kampus Merdeka framework presents challenges and opportunities for innovation, creativity, and meeting student needs while fostering independence. The MBKM initiative aims to produce competitive graduates and provide contextual field experiences that enhance students’ work readiness or create new job opportunities.
Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is an educational approach that emphasizes clear focus and systematic organization of learning experiences. It ensures that essential student competencies are demonstrated and measurable by the end of their learning journey. Through this framework, students are expected to achieve their abilities through controlled evaluation and assessment.
The Workshop Review on OBE Learning for Implementing MBKM in the Biology Program followed a planned schedule. Faculty members attended, and the session began with a presentation by a guest speaker on aligning the syllabus (RPS) with OBE principles. After the speaker’s session, faculty members revised the RPS based on the feedback provided by the speaker.
