Nine students from the Biology program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga conducted a field practicum at the UPTD BPBPTDK Frozen Semen Unit in Pakem, Sleman. This practicum was part of their Reproductive Biology course. Before the practical session, the students were briefed on the principles of sperm cryopreservation. In the field, they observed various stages of semen freezing, guided by field personnel. The activities included semen collection, examination of fresh semen, semen dilution processes, filling and sealing procedures, the freezing process, and post-thawing motility observations. Through this field practicum, the students gained practical insights into sperm cryopreservation and applied the knowledge acquired during their lectures.
