Biological Department Launches Thesis Clinic Program to Support Student Graduation

The Scientific Writing Training, also known as the Thesis Clinic, is one of the programs offered by the Biology Department and has been running since 2021. As the name suggests, this program aims to guide students during their thesis completion. Registration for the program occurs at the beginning of each semester, targeting senior students who are currently working on their theses, especially those at risk of dropping out.

During this program, participating students are divided into groups and paired with a supervising faculty member who acts as a supportive “companion.” The faculty member assists with grammar corrections, and literature searches, and guides revising the thesis based on feedback from both the thesis advisor and examiners. It’s important to note that the supervising faculty member does not replace the thesis advisor but serves as a technical consultant for the student’s thesis work. Weekly mentoring sessions with the supervising faculty allow students to discuss their progress.

Regarding consultations, students can reach out to the supervising faculty anytime, either online or in person. Each group typically consists of around five students with similar research interests, facilitating focused discussions related to their research topics.
